Doesn’t matter if you are a traveler or a hiker or both, a daypack is a gear which you will need always. You will need it for every kind of adventure, e.g. hiking, biking, trekking, etc. When looking for a daypack to buy, people usually look for a daypack that offers the ability to carry enough water, food for a whole day, a first aid kit, a headlamp, an extra layering, and a few other accessories. The price of a daypack depends on its technical features and hauling abilities. The expensive ones always offer better features but that doesn’t mean you have to buy only those, there are budget-friendly daypacksthat can offer a lot.

Osprey Talon 22

Osprey Talon 22 is one of those daypacks that has it all. Its capacity is 22 liters and that will serve the whole day. It also comes in 33 and 44 liters as well. The capacity alone makes it ideal for a whole summer day on the trail. It’s also appointed with a functional organization and has a good stretchiness to it and it is made in two sizes which helps dial in the fit. One of the noteworthy features of Osprey is a real hipbelt and also a light cushioning that is more comfortable than any simple webbing. One disadvantage of Osprey is that it’s not good for heavy loads.

Deuter Speed Lite 20

Deuter Speed Lite 20 is a lightweight, versatile daypack that offers great value. It’s very comfortable with good padding along with the shoulder straps and back panel and it is very lightweight: it’s just 1 pound 1 ounce. Despite that, it has a hydration reservoir sleeve and an exit port. It has no padding on the removable hipbelt.

REI Co-op Flash 18

REI Co-op Flash 18 is a very lightweight backpack that weighs only 9 ounces and has light revision to the shoulder strap padding and overall shape. The 18 liters’ capacity is ideal for a daylong adventure and since its back panel is thin it is removable and it doubles as a sit pad. You can also turn it inside out to use it as a stuff bag inside a backpack or a suitcase. It doesn’t have that many features but it still has a hydration sleeve, hipbelt, and sternum straps. It cannot handle much weight.

Osprey Stratos 24

Osprey Stratos 24 is quite expensive at $140 but it has a lot of features and it’s very comfortable. It has a full metal frame and a substantial hipbelt and a large mesh panel that conforms nicely to your back. It has two hipbelt pockets and large zippers, a built-in rain cover. This is a high-quality daypack and it’s very luxurious. It’s quite heavy and expensive.

Daypacks should be comfortable and also should have features. We recommend you to go through your budget and criteria and find one that fits well in those just like the womens trail running shoes. Remember, it’s not always about the price, it’s about comfort and features, too.
